How to easily buy and use crypto online

  Without further ado lets get into it. You can buy and hold crypto without all the programs above, but we encourage everyone to have privacy as a top priority in these uncertain times. 

Create a new crypto wallet

  For the purposes of this guide we will use the oldest and most reliable wallet out there, which is obviously METAMASK. 

  1. Go to the official METAMASK page. 
  2. Click on the GET STARTED button. (if you are on mobile it will open either IOS or Android Store.)

For Desktop/PC users continue reading on. For MOBILE USERS click the button beside to get you to the MOBILE guide.

  1. Click on “Create new wallet”
  2. If you are not into privacy, click “Log in with Apple or Google”. 
    However if you are into privacy, click “Use Secret Recovery Phrase”
  3. On the next screen, create your password. Use a strong password, don’t be a stereotype boomer. The best practice is to use a password generator and a password manager like BitWarden
  4. On the next screen you will be prompted to tap to reveal your seed phrase. Its a 12 word sentence that has no meaning other than random words that are stronger than your password and is THE SOLE METHOD of recovering your wallet if you forget the password. 
  5. Tap to reveal the seed phrase and COPY IT on a piece of paper. Yes take the time out of your busy life to find a writing tool and a piece of paper and write the 12 words down on it, make sure you written them down correctly and store that paper where your soul is. This is what the phrase looks like

    7.juice 8.finish 9.stem 10.into 11.element 12.focus

  6. After you’ve written your seed phrase click “Continue”.
  7. On the next screen it will ask you to confirm your seed phrase to make sure you’re written it down like a good person that you are. Put in the words at the positions it asks for and click “Continue”.
  8. You will arrive at a screen where it says “Your wallet is ready!”. Click “Done”. At this stage you have a wallet and you are ready to buy your first Crypto coins. Your wallet will look like in the second image below
  1. Press the Buy button in your wallet interface.
  1. After you press buy, you will be redirected to the page app.metamask.io where you need to connect your wallet, in order to make a crypto purchase. The page will look like this.
  1. Either click on the bottom button or on the right top corner button “Connect wallet”
  1. The METAMASK extension will pop-up from the right side corner of the screen prompting for your password. In some cases it will be already logged in and your wallet will be connected. If this is the case skip to step 15
  1. Input your password then click “Unlock” then when you see your account click “Connect”. Now your wallet is connected. The video above shows the steps.
  1. Congratulations, you are connected and ready to buy Crypto with your connected wallet. We will buy ETHEREUM. We accept BITCOIN, SOLANA or ETHEREUM just the same. Choose your country, the currency you wish to use, the amount in that currency you want to buy ETHEREUM with, and choose either Credit Card or REVOLUT Pay as your payment method. If you are in the EU these 2 payment methods should be available to you through vendors like Moonpay or Transak. Finish the purchase using your personal info either through credit card or REVOLUT Pay. 
  1. Congratulations, you have ETHEREUM. You should be able to check this by going into your wallet and finding the amount you bought under tokens. 

For mobile users:

  1. After clicking on the GET STARTED button you will be redirected to the App Store if you are on iOS (Apple user) or Play Store if you are on Android. Getting the app from the official store is the only way to make sure you get the real wallet and avoid scams.
  2. Install the METAMASK app.
  3. Open the METAMASK app. It will look something like this for first time installs
  1. Tap on “Create a new wallet”
  2. If you are not into privacy, Log in with Apple or Google. 
    However if you are into privacy, click Use Secret Recovery Phrase
  1. On the next screen, create your password. Use a strong password, don’t be a stereotype boomer. The best is to use a password generator and a password manager like BitWarden.
    Check the box that says if you loose this password MetaMask can’t reset it, and click “Create password”
  1. On the next screen you will be prompted to tap to reveal your seed phrase. Its a 12 word sentence that has no meaning other than random words that are stronger than your password and is THE SOLE METHOD of recovering your wallet if you forget the password.

    Tap to reveal the seed phrase and COPY IT on a piece of paper. Yes, take the time out of your busy life to find a writing tool and a piece of paper and write the 12 words down on it, make sure you write them down correctly and store that paper where your soul is.   1. After clicking “Continue” past the Help Improve MetaMask screen you will receive the “Your wallet is ready!” screen. Congratulations. Now you have a crypto wallet and we can start buying crypto. 
  1. On the interface of your new wallet there is a “Buy” button. Go ahead and press it. On the image below its highlighted in red contour.   
  1. Once you press it, there will be a pop up from the bottom down. Choose “Buy crypto with cash”
  1. We will buy ETHEREUM. You can easily buy either BITCOIN or SOLANA. Tap on ETHEREUM in the list. You can find it searching with the search bar or my selecting the most used coins at the top besides “All” selection.
  1. After choosing your crypto you will have to choose the (1) country you are from, the (2) amount you want to buy in currency terms (euros) and the (3) method of payment you want to use. Easiest is credit/debit card and Revolut Pay. Both are available to EU Customers.
  1. Click “Continue” and you should successfully buy crypto instantly and have it reflected in your portfolio. It should look something like this:
